A GoodMob + A Local Independent Business + Local Charity + Partners = Local Business & Community Development + Lasting Reciprocal Customers & Donor Relationships.
More businesses seem to want to do more than make a donation to charity as their act of community service. GoodMob is a grassroots Calgary social innovation initiative that was created in 2012 with the intention create real change within the communities we call home. They support small, independent business owners and charities with a unique way to reach and engage their customers, members, and donors, while supporting local business and community development at the same time.
GoodMob invites people via social media to join a flashmob-inspired gathering to buy stuff “en mass” from a designated local business. Some of the proceeds are directed to a local nor for profit, charity, or civic group.
GoodMob was recognized by Alberta Venture magazine as a top innovator in 2012, and a global finalist for World Cities Day competition for best new ideas for cities in 2014 (organized by Guardian News-London,UK, UN-Habitat and the Rockefeller Foundation)
